About the event

Join us for an engaging afternoon celebrating community, heritage, and innovation in Belfast’s built environment.

Our speakers include Naomi Long MLA, Leader of the Alliance Party and Justice Minister, who brings her unique perspective as a civil engineer and long-standing public servant committed to inclusive politics and infrastructure that serves communities. Rory Rankin, Architect at McAdam Design and Project Lead for the Templemore Baths restoration, will share insights from this award-winning project that balances heritage conservation with modern design. Martin Doherty MRICS, Chair of the RICS Northern Ireland Board and Contracts Manager for the £100m ‘Belfast Stories’ project, will discuss the evolution of major capital projects and the future of the surveying profession. Cllr Alderman Sonia Copeland, Belfast City Councillor and advocate for inclusive, community-focused urban development, will reflect on her role in ensuring the Templemore Baths redevelopment respected its history while meeting modern community needs.

The event will begin with arrival at 11:45am, followed by a lunch buffet from 12:00 to 12:30pm – a relaxed start with time to network and enjoy lunch. From 12:30 to 1:00pm, the Templemore Baths Focus Session and panel discussion will explore the restoration project’s journey and its lasting impact on the local community. The afternoon will conclude on a festive note with Christmas bingo from 1:00 to 1:30pm, complete with prizes and good cheer.
